Tools- Mrchuck's accumulation
« on: November 11, 2012, 08:29:26 PM »
Mrchuck has been accumulating tools! It is hard to believe he has found this many ratchets, combos, and 4" adjustables around the small community of Gun Barrel City, Texas!

The big and medium vises are Rock Island. Every USA made vise that I find, I buy if reasonable.
I have sand blasted them clean, then oiled, painted, and got them all working in perfect order.
I have a 5" Wilton on the bench, torn down and ready for painting, and re-assembly. only a couple of the small ones are Japanese made. Rest are all USA made.

Papaw got to spend some money at our local swap meet, Big Daddy's, on Saturday afternoon.
He found a really old, perfect shape, saddle maker's hammer!
Yes, this is cowboy country here!

Yes, I am surprised that so many quality vintage tools are in this area.
Maybe because so many older folks have retired here from the Dallas Ft Worth area where they worked at one of many Aircraft-defense plants that were operating during the 50's and 60's,and 70's. Not as many today!
Example: a vintage Williams 3/4" drive ratchet, beautiful shape,,,,20 bucks. Must weigh 20 lbs!
Found it this last Friday, in a small sub-division called Log Cabin, TX. Old couple, converting it to cash.
My big chore now is to re-organize my shop,,,get all the fishing tackle, rods and reels, boxes, etc., out and make room for the other 3 piece roll-away, that is outside tarped up.
Then,,, put everything away in the drawers, and organize.

I appreciate all the help, knowledge and advice that has been given on this forum.
Never has been a waste of the precious time one has.

The only thing one may feel is detrimental,, is that I haven't gotten around and fixed that upstairs toilet flapper ball,,, that hangs up periodically!
And I have had the parts and tools for a long time to do it with!!

Thanks,,,,amigos
