Fleet Wrenches
« on: June 10, 2018, 06:45:10 AM »
Hello, I have 7 Fleet Wrenches, but they were found in a rack that held 8. Does anyone know if this was sold as a 7 , or, 8 piece set? The rack had a sticker marked ETW850 Tool Holder, but had no other markings. The sizes that I have are (reading left to right on the handles) 5/16 - 1/4, 7/16 - 3/8, 9/16 - 1/2, 11/16 - 19/32, 3/4 - 5/8, 7/8 - 13/16, and 1 - 15/16. Thanks, Lou

Hi Lou.  It looks like the wrenches are numbered.  Do the number follow a pattern that would indicate if a wrench is missing?  The Barcalo USA wrench set I have has a 5/8 - 11/16 in addition to the 11/16 - 19/32 and 5/8 - 3/4, as in your Fleet set.

                 Hello, Al.Thanks for the reply, I should have caught that. Looking at the numbers, it looks like I am missing 5/8-11/16 size. Would that be a 5020???      5/16 - 1/4 (5010) , 7/16 - 3/8 (5014), 9/16 - 1/2 (5018), 11/16 - 19/32 (5022) , 3/4 - 5/8 (5024), 7/8 - 13/16 (5028), and 1 - 15/16 and (5032). Thanks, Lou

It;s possible your set is correct as it is. The 1953 catalog lists a set that has 7 wrenches in the same sizes as you have. Yours are newer and have a flat shank whereas the ones in the catalog have a concave shank.
A person who could really read human minds would be privileged to gaze on some correct imitations of chaos.
