Electric Motor Tool ? Mica Undercutter Attachment ? 032513
« on: March 25, 2013, 03:24:49 PM »
I am back listing stuff on Ebay after a short break, so I may have a few whatsits.

I was wondering if any of the electric motor maintenance guys on here could help me out with this one.  I have a vague recollection from a tool I had years ago that this may be some kind of hand mica undercutter attachment.

I am sorry about that.  I did a hyperlink instead of just inserting the images and spelled the address wrong.

The cutters sure look similar to the one on the mica undercutter I have.

That is HALF of a field mica cutter.
The square shank indexes into a bracket that locates the cutting portion parallel to the commutator, the red handlebrings the saw into position and the black handle moves the blade.

If you have the fixture end, you have a tool.  What you have is scrap or repair parts.

Aunt Phil,

Thanks for the information.  I figured it was not all there.  I sell a lot of parts/repair items on Ebay, so I guess I will keep it running.

Thanks,

John

When I worked in a starter/generator shop in 1964, the mica undercutter was like a tiny circular saw blade. It was powered, the armature was stationery while being undercut.  Is anyone familiar with that type and where can I get one?
