Iron King looks like Planet Jr??
« on: July 20, 2012, 01:17:50 PM »
Found this Iron King a couple days ago.  It looks identical to a Planet Jr and seems like quite a few others.  Did someone make these and brand them for multiple companies, or was Iron King tied to Planet Jr somehow?

They are not from the same company, Planet Jr was from S.L.Allen, Iron King was from C.W.Genung of Madison Ohio.
However both appear together in several farm guides, and seem to have been selling nearly identical machinery....

That doesn't completly answer the question tho...

Blatent product copying? hmm
Just a weathered light rust/WD40 mix patina.

Rathbone shows Iron King No.8 seeder as being made by Planet Jr. in 1876. Looks like they made garden tools.
