I like the idea. You should have posted that Thorsen screwdriver :)
Hey JessEmThanks. Hopefully some new members and lurkers get involved as well.
thanks for this idea, it's working VERY well.
and thanks Papaw for letting us try it.

... I suggest each winner at least let the giver know when the offering arrives.Agreed. ... And I think the sender should advise when he's planning to ship. Particularly if there will be a delay. :) Personally, I always assume things are getting mailed in the next day or two. I know it doesn't always work this way, but that's how I think. I start watching the mail and I get anxious if it doesn't arrive when I think it should, when, in reality, things aren't always sent the next day.
..............That said, I hope this screwdriver finds a home.
Put mrchuck in please! DBE"s are my favorite as they don't slip.
Old iron wrenches, sure! Something about the simplicity of the combination open ends. I'll gladly take them. Will offer up a 12 inch adjustable, (Crescnet-type), in your choice of Diamond, or some other brand. Straight from the farm, workable, oiled, but with working dings, scrapes, showing it was in use for 30+ years. Do I need to show a pic of an adjustable?Do you have a 12" Crescent Jamestown version?
dang, wish that handle wasn't cut.......
My offerings;
I'll take the breaker bar.
I have one. It's an adjustable coping saw. It's marked : DONICER ITALY.
I'll take the breaker bar.
Ken W., I think we got a little tangled up here. RedVise took the breaker bar off the table and put up a hammer. Papaw claimed the hammer and offered to post his giveaway tomorrow.
You guys can handle this however you want. I just wanted to clear things up.
OK, my offering here is a 10in. RIDGID pipe wrench, steel, good teeth, has some red paint remaining. Lots of shelf wear, and little usage wear, was on a service truck. Will post pic if someone asks. As soon as I take the photo.
I'd be interested in the Wakefield. I'll leave the Plomb and the Vlchek for someone else next time.
It does surprise me that NO ONE wants a free monkey wrench. It is kinda beat up, tho.
OK, found some extra tools, Working Stanley "Yankee 41Y" drill with 8 drill bits, & 4 old Forged in USA wrenches, 2 (#42 & #25)with V-Shield stamp, 1 (#14) with M-circle stamp, & 1 Unknown? no sizes stamped.Ooooh, me! me!
Can I chime in?You got them, send me your info.
I just did one 7 weeks ago.
If it is cool, I'll take it.

Give me a couple of days to find and photograph something appropriate. I'm in the middle of insulating and sheet rocking my workshop, and can't seem to find anything!
Branson: your pin vise finally went out this week, sorry for the delay.

Well I'm confused. As I understand it, if you get something here, you put something up. No reason why we can't have more than one going, in my opinion, as long as everyone remembers who's getting what. It makes it more fun.
Do we have 2 pay it forwards going here at the same time?
Am I getting johnk's offering and am I supposed to put up something, or is keykeeper next up because he is getting something from Branson?
If nobody want these,I'll take them. I could use the sockets. I'll put something up in a few.
Who was up last? Summer has us all busy, and my yard looks it. So, someone toss out the ball again!!!
Plomb ratchet & sockets came in today.Something I can use in my blacksmith shop? :P
I'll have something up by tomorrow.
Any requests? Lol
Chilly
I'll take that deal!I'll get her in tomorrows mail.

Showing my lack of age here I'm sure... What are they? o.o I mean, there are some obvious ones in there... 1/2" drive extension, a wrench for the old square heads, a needlessly complicated box wrench... But, the rest? Are they just sockets on dowels, essentially?
Man, I didnt think this guy would ever show up... !!!
So how about... 8" German pipe jaws ?
This is a little different, but lets see if any one is interested.
Both of these are made in Germany.
ONEHANDER 8" CHROMAVAN Stickle Back
Globemaster 8" Pipe wrench
Speak up if interested !! If not, we will try something else.
Brian
I'd be interested in the Craftsman wrenches. Is this take-your-pick, or you dumping it all?Dumping it all, what isnt wanted gets chucked

Is the powrkraft wrenches, drag link socket, and socket adapter still available? How about the other sockets?
If they are still available I'd be interested. I'd pay postage, since you already paid shipping to JessM.....
I've been working on my garage a lot, digging out all kinds of stuff. I'll finally know all my duplicates, hopefully.

3 Unmarked wrench, identical to the one above.
Can you read the writing on your pliers?

The "ratchet" is missing something.I must be getting slow as hell, it took me awhile to figure out what y'all were talking about
Nice selection received from HeelSpur! Are we trying to limit the offers to wrenches, or would it be appropriate to offer woodworking tools? Thanks
Nice selection received from HeelSpur! Are we trying to limit the offers to wrenches, or would it be appropriate to offer woodworking tools? Thanks
Several of us would find woodworking tools very appropriate.
Other tools are fine.Would newer tools also be OK? I sometimes get new or newer tools that I have no earthly use for but others may need.
I can't speak for everyone, or Papaw, but I will... I think older tools are what fuels the flame around here.Other tools are fine.Would newer tools also be OK? I sometimes get new or newer tools that I have no earthly use for but others may need.

PM me your name and address and they are yours, 1930. Oh, be sure to include your dob, account #, mother's maden name and two forms of identification
Woah... Those are nice. The metal one is a Craftsman. I'd take them, but it would be purely out of greed, as I'm already well covered in this area. Nice giveway though.
Yes, I kinda thought that was the case. Was going to look at mine before changing it back but thanks.Woah... Those are nice. The metal one is a Craftsman. I'd take them, but it would be purely out of greed, as I'm already well covered in this area. Nice giveway though.
JessEm, as I was boxing up the tools for mailing, I noticed on the end of the blade adjustment screw "Stanley" which I had not previously seen. Looks like your first comment was correct.
My batteries are dead but can take pics tomm night after work.
I have to give away what is maybe a complete standard Indestro socket set, all but two are Indestro ( one is Napa and the other a name I have never heard of but U.S brand ) I remember using them 40 plus years ago as a kid.
They were my dads and they were as my father kept them and used them. Sizes 1 inch to 5/16 3/8 drive.
Nice socket set and I am sure someone would enjoy them as much as I will enjoy the planes.
wait!Send me the address
these sockets are still available?
I assumed they went instantly.
I would love to give them a home.

The small pin vises and small bits come in handy when you smash a finger nail and need to relieve the pressure.I just use a needle, heated red hot over a gas burner (not sure how you do this if you have an electric stove). I've had to do it just a couple of times, thank goodness. Freaked my bride out both times.
The small pin vises and small bits come in handy when you smash a finger nail and need to relieve the pressure. If you have a small tap and die, you can thread the hole and a plug in case you need to relieve it again.
My offerings-
A rusty, crusty, well worn L S Starrett , Athol, Mass speed indicator. It does turn and may work just fine. I have no way to tell.
A pair of Utica Tools round nose pliers, model 21 6 , in need of cleanup.
Added to see if some interest can be drummed up are three more tools.
A Stanley 1/4" wood chisel No. 60 -that has a bent shaft.
A Craftsman 3/8 drive tri-wing ratchet No. 43176 in need of repair- quite loose and ratchets poorly.
A pair of Crescent L26 pliers.
I'll take these if they are still available. I have a couple of things I can put up.

Bunger: I'll take the second lot offered, that Proto chisel is calling my name. I've debated all day about this one.
I'll post up something as soon as I can.
Heelspur, the Wakefield is packaged up and ready for the Postal carrier in the AM. I have your address already.OK, Thank You.
I'll take that off your hands.
Lets see if this moves if not i'll try something else.

Heelspur,
If oily didn't want this and it's still up for grabs,I would take it.
Thank you,Heelspur.
OK,gents.
Here's my offer.
Its a Bell system lineman's wrench made by Klein and sons.
I don't know a thing about these wrenches.
Does the 2-67 stamping mean it was made in February,1967?
Don't know if anyone here collects Bell System stuff or not.
If not,I'll put up something else this weekend.
No bites on the Bell stuff. :embarrassed:I think something is wrong with your picture... I can't open it in any of my programs o.o
Everyone likes ratchets,I think.
So up now is a craftsman 3/8 drive,part no.943796.
40 tooth and works smoooth.
I have tried every way know to open the files with no success. Where do you have them hosted? Or are they just on your hard drive?Something about a bad or wrong file extension.Weirdly... I can, in fact, open them with my phone. But not at all with my computer... How bizarre
If you mean a 3/8" Craftsman ratchet, I'll go for that. We just bought a new RV, and I'm assembling the toolkit. I'll send you a private message with my address.
No nibbles on my offering of last week. Here's another attempt. Your choice of two T-handles or one ratchet. Details:
1/4" T-handle is a Plomb 4785 (unless that reads [triangle]785 - eyes ain't what they wuz). The surface is a little oxidized, but not rusty.
1/2" T-handle is a Williams S-20A. Nice and clean.
1/2" ratchet is an Armstrong S-91. There's a little rust on the knurling on the handle, and around the head, but it should clean up nicely. One cool feature: the ratcheting-direction lever has a detent on center, where the drive will freewheel. Unless this was a bug, I assume it's for those times when the bolt is free-running enough that you can twist the socket with your fingers to speed it in/out.
If you're consumed by lust for all three, and agree to kick a little money Papaw's way to support this neighborhood (amount purely up to your budget), I can send them all.
I'll take the Armstrong ratchet if it's still available.Twertsy,

The rules are simple. First person to reply "I'll take it" gets it. That person then pays it forward by offering something. And on it goes. The giver is responsible for shipping. If an item is unclaimed after 14 days, the giver must offer a new item. The idea is to keep the thread going...

Damn I love that punch set.

+1 It is nice. Really like that hand-made box. At least it looks home made out of galvanized.

Yeah, the pliers were the lot I was thinking about snapping up :P But, pliers are the one tool I abuse, and I would have destroyed them... Didn't seem right to do that to those.Damn I love that punch set.
Maybe I'll use that the next time. Maybe I'll use it to sweeten the pot sometime.
I bought a new one 4 yrs ago from Rio Grande for ~$36 - the Whitney brand is tops in my use and this one is the best of the 3 I have gained since I bought the new one.
IMHO the prize lot was the pliers. Nobody makes them better than Lindstrom - I've bought new Lindstrom pliers and paid over $65 for the pair. They must think that they are pretty good, also.
Chilly

My bad guys sorry it took so long. Chilly PM me to let me know he is still putting my package together. Looking forward to that, and will post pics of it when it comes as I promised him I would.
Now for my offering, it is not much, but I hope someone wants it. It is a Proto Professional 5449 1/2 ratchet. I hope one of you guys would give it a nice home. I cleaned and lubed it, it's ready to go to work. Any takers.
