Recently found vintage 5-inch bicycle wrench

I had only seen occasional pictures of this 1900 Schrader Patent wrench until I found this one   I don't know what the spanner end of this 5-inch wrench was used for on the bicycles of the time. No trace of a brand or manufacturer's name can be seen on this pitted wrench, but it's a beauty just the same!

maybe they used the spanner to tighten the bearing on the rear wheel
