Any marks on it?    Almost has to be railroad.    To the right person you could sell it by the pound!

I wouldn't rule out a pumping unit in an oil context.  I have an EMSCO wrench over 6' designed for a pumping unit (3-1/2" opening).

I have this photo in my files. I don't know where I got it, probably from someone here.

I will say the wrench does not look hand made. Appears that the opening is punched. Look for it on Fee-bay here in a couple days. I dont have room for it.

Funny you should post that today ! I saw a guy a work today with a 4' pipe wrench, had to be aluminum the way he carried it.
Tried to get a pic but took a movie instead.... I couldn't handle the pressure of trying to get a quick pic!

So Carl,  no shed to hang that wrench over the door of ??? You will never see one again !

Could it be for tightning the gangs on a disc, discer or old oneway?? Would not need pipe extension.

I suppose thats possible. Im still leaning towards steam locomotive or oil well. Either way it has an $80 bid on Fee-bay. Someone will love it.

We had a couple 48" steel pie wrenchs but don't remember ever using them. Bout the only one who could use it would of been our lead plumber, he could use a pair of 36 inchers over his head and not blink an eye. He was powerful as a bull.

This summer I saw and (grunt!) lifted a Williams 22B wrench.  52 inches long, 7-5/8 opening and 149 lbs.  I have a picture of me holding it.  It was in Altoona PA, where the big railroad shops for the PRR were, and still are operated by NS.

I have a shorter wrench that is similar to that, but homemeade.  The farm auciton I attended and endid up winning it for a dollar.  Auctioneer said it was a "combine" wrench.  You know as much as I do.....
