Williams wrench store display board
« on: January 13, 2013, 10:10:19 PM »
Found this at a yard sale last year. Approx 4' tall. Have not been able to find out exactly which wrenches where sold off this display. Any info out there?

The wrench is an engineer's wrench, so I'd surmise the display was selling them.

Oh man I need one of those, now!!

Oh wait, I don't have any free wall space.
I don't even have space to put up my wrenches. They are laying around stacked on top of each other as it is.
   Drat!!

I have style B according to your ad. Went and cleaned board and found most of the #'s.
This is what I have

Top wrench lying flat is 2?
Row of 4- 725, 25, 27C, 28S
Row of 3- 736, 34, 731A
Row of 4- 760B, 761C, 763A, 764B (thats how I read mine)
Row of 4 lying flat- 525, 527, 529, 531
Row of 4 S lying flat- 664B, 663C, 662B, 661(no letter visible on this one,but has crack in wood there)

Now I need to fill this board!!! Will have to go through my pails of stuff and keep looking.

Scottg, Because you already have the wrenches, you NEED to build a copy of that display. Lack of wall space is no excuse. It will hang quite nicely from the rafters on chains.

Scott, between your stuff and mine I think we could fill that!   I have to have at least 30 of that vintage Williams.  Now the board is 4 foot tall?

I'm in late on this, but the photo so well painted, I thought it was metal as well.  This thing trumps my SK display for sure.  I'll check my Wiliams stash and see if I have a "gapper" or two.  I prolly have more Armsrongs from that era, but I will dig once the dust settles......

There's a really super spray paint that looks like metal instead of spray paint.  The fish in the picture was
sprayed with this paint.  The surface is paper mache and six pack rings.  Something I carved for the
company I used to work for.
