Wullweber book
« on: April 13, 2012, 07:48:00 PM »
Got a box of books at auction 4/12 /12. Mostly reprints and a bunch of Iron Horse antique catalog from 1970's. To my complete surprize this copy of "Northern Plains Antique Wrenches & Tools" was in bottom of box. Anone know when this book was published ? Mentions prices are from 1975 auctions so it has to be later than that. Since author was one of the founders of the MVWC, I was very happy to find this sleeper.

1975 and there is a 1977 supplement.

(Pub dates can be the end of the year)

Nice find, going price seems to be $35-40....
Did not find many tho ....

Farm wrenches? Or other types?
Just a weathered light rust/WD40 mix patina.

he has awide variety of tools. Everything from planes to axes to wrenchs. Not too many farm wrenchs. He has one picture of cast farm wrenchs that are not identified. lists as $1-$3 each. I can see about 50 wrenchs and can pick out : P&O;Emerson;Planet Jr;Moline Drill;Deering;Van Brunt;IHC;etc. Guess they weren't worth individual attention in 1975.

Marv Wullweber gave dad & mom the original layout from his 1982 wrench book & they re-used some of his photos for their 1988 book.   Some of the photos in Wullweber's 1982 book were re-used from his earlier tool books.
I have the cannibalized original from 1982 in my possession now, along with copies of all of Wullweber's books. -- Stan Schulz
