2 Ratchets I Passed On
« on: May 22, 2016, 09:15:59 AM »
I'm not a ratchet collector but I saw these 2 in a bin of ratchets at the flea market yesterday. The Indestro has a sheet metal type cover over the geared head. You change direction by flipping the paw, no lever just flip the paw. The Truecraft has what I think is an unusual arrangement. It is like a breaker bar with a permanent ratchet adapter attached. You turn the knurled wheel to change directions. I probably should have picked them up but I didn't  :undecided:

The open gear Indestro's you don't see often, not sure how long they were made. The Truecraft I've not seen one like that.
A person who could really read human minds would be privileged to gaze on some correct imitations of chaos.

I can tell you from past experience that the Trucraft ratcheting breaker bar is a really well built tool. I have put pipes on these and they have held up to some serious abuse.

You didn't buy them? Shame, shame!

For penance you need to go back, get them, and send them to me! lol

Yeah, the open gear ratchet is very much like the Thorsen, only it has a rectangular polished handle - the Thorsen is round and knurled (the way I like it).

I've got a deal in progress to get a 1/2" P&C ratchet.
