Williams #531 toolpost wrench
« on: June 20, 2014, 05:48:05 PM »
This followed me home last Sunday for about 25 cents.  It's clearly a toolpost wrench, 1/2" and 7/16", and it's clearly Williams.  Anyone know anything more about it?

Wow.  Somebody did a lot of work there.

Any street value to something like this?

Ummmm  I heard of someone paying ~$0.50 - and I'm not talking about Bill.

I buy that kind of wrench for $0.25 to ~ $2.00 around here.

I bought a new in package, single end 1/2" machine wrench, Williams, for $3.25 about a month ago.

OK, so nice toy; not something to retire on (oh, wait!  I'm already retired!).  That's fine.  My kids/grandkids* can puzzle over why I had it.

*Grandkids are, at the moment, theoretical only.  But I keep hoping one or both boys will get busy.

Man - I hope its 6 or 7 yrs before I have to retire ( I could right now, but I don't want to at 51)  The longer I can go, the better off I will be.  Point is - we have 5 grandkids.  They are everything as advertised, so tell those boys to get on the ball.

Hmm…, somehow I kinda got it in my head that it also takes someone of the female persuasion.  *he whistles tunelessly*

Dunno, medical science can do amazing things these days....
Just a weathered light rust/WD40 mix patina.

And I'd rather have them find the right someone of the female persuasion.  Our older son's with someone; the younger one's looking.  Anyone got a daughter/granddaughter in her 30s, eager to find a man who loves tools, cars, dogs, history, and literature?  Oh, and move to California's North Coast?
