Yellow Proto Wrench
« on: January 29, 2014, 06:04:12 PM »
I was working on demo in a house I started renovating today.  ONE of the finds was this yellow Proto wrench.  I do believe strongly it is factory paint.  What's the story with the yellow?

It is a 7/16 combination wrench.

The only info I've found is to some for sale on Ebay which state they are "safety".

I think that the safety factor is due to a tool not getting left behind somewhere it shouldn't...

The Williams SuperCombos from a few years back were also offered in yellow. Red too!

A few companies make yellow or red tools. There pretty much high visibility for critical areas. I had to take a few OSHA classes and it briefly came up. Theres applications were there required for safety. I have never had the need for a bright yellow wrench but it is out there.

It took me forever to sell a new unused Williams supercombo14 piece set in red. I think most people would rather have chrome then red. I think high visibility tools are great, but they have a certain market.
