My 1st thought was a Spark plug wire tool, but I was wrong. The wife got this box full at an auction with a thing she wanted so didn't cost anything. Oh I'm keeping this tool along with a few others, got to get rid of the rust. Was fairly common tool before electricity took over, household and small tools/machines! How is that for a hint???

Hello, Oldgoaly. Those are Round Belt Punch Pliers, for round belts for sewing machines. If they are Bernard Schollhorn, then they are probably a Number 115. Regards, Lou
-
+1 I have even used a pair.
-
trying to figure out what some of the other tools are?
-
I came home with an old S-K box the other day with all the usual junk.
Found a copper Schrader valve stem cover. Never saw or even knew of one before. But it stands to reason that there was a need, and Schrader filled it.

The blasting pliers, Archimedean drill, and the double pricking wheel are probably the nicest things in the lot besides the belt punch pliers.

Lou hit the nail on the head. Here are mine, as found and cleaned up.

3rd tool is a dud! marked General Households, thought it looked like it might be something cool....cough

Late 70s, I worked at Southern States Co-op repairing forklifts and loaders. I also had to do repairs on the sewing machines in the bag house for seed and feed. I still have a pair of those round belt pliers somewhere in the garage.

The blasting pliers are shown in the top center of the photo.

Thanks WVT!There are 2 of them. What is the "awl" like part for?
I've been busy with cistern prblems, no fun!
-
Hello, oldgoaly. Have you figured out what the other 2 are yet? Thanks, Lou
-
The pliers with the 2 "side cutters? still don't know. The dud is a can opener, oh well so much for it being interesting!

"Dynamite" type explosive in a tube -- poke a hole down the center of the explosive, insert detonator cap that has been crimped on to end of a piece of fuse, or is attached to wires from one of those "push down the handle to generate an electrical charge" devices -- then do what you have to do to be a safe distance away when the explosive is set off. Need to make a hole for the detonator because you don't want to accidentally cause the detonator to go off when you are in the immediate vicinity.

Thanks for the explanation! another nugget of knowledge!

These were soaked in phosphoric acid solution for a couple of days. Then clear coated. The 2 side cutters look similar, center jaws are flat.

one more pic next to a rule. 6 1/4" long
