Crescent No.1
« on: December 10, 2015, 02:59:34 PM »
OK, here's another one for you. It's an early Crescent Tool Co, Jamestown NY, marked No 1 on the back. When fully closed there is still an opening through the jaws. On the end of each handle, one tapers down to a point, and the other is squared off with a hole through it. Only 5-1/2 inches long. These seem to be wire strippers for a very specific use, that's my guess. The handle ends use is not clear to me. Any ideas?

That makes perfect sense, I hadn't thought to look at them as a mining tool. Thanks as always for the info!
