Found this blacksmith made hay hook, with nice forge weld, at a garage sale on saturday. Also found was this shaping hatchet, with the steel edge clearly forge welded to the iron body. No names on either. Have a feeling the hook was made at a local forge, where the hatchet head was possibly made in a large shop, with machines to cut the basic shape, before the smith got it. $2 apiece sound good?

$2 for a broad hatchet in decent usable shape? Sounds *really* good to me. I would have snapped it up without thinking!
