Ime not sure if I would call it primitive but for ten bucks who cares what it's called. That's a smoking deal.

But shipping gonna be the killer.

Sad , it looks like a duplicate of my fathers old box and tools. I would have thought it had more value.
A lot of history in that box, I'll bet there are a lot of stories to be told.

Neil, the shipping is only about $34. It is in Ashland, Illinois- maybe you could pick it up?

Not to be a negative poster here, but this does not look like a working box anyone had decades ago.

I see a nice old box filled with odd tools that are slow sellers in an antique shop.   A carpenter with a butcher's bone saw and a blow torch seems really odd to me.

If any of those tools individually are well worth the price the lot sure is.   The brace if it carries a good name would be my pick of the litter.    I use one now, works great even when the power fails.

I saw one 1/2 decent brace, in marginal condition.  2 more real dogs.
Looks like a Stanley, or imitator #4 plane.
A hog scraper, a really poor quality meat saw, a dubious-whether--its-complete, blowtorch.
The tools seem to be very poor to me.

The box is kind of cool though. If you could pick it up across town the 10 bucks would be ok.

Oh, except i like that style of saw set. Everybody is going with the pistol grip style (Stanley 42x etc)  and I like those too.
But having both styles means you get to change wrist positions and that is a very good thing.
This style saw set often sells for 2 dollars or so. Like I said everyone wants the pistol grip.

Rarely do I buy stuff off ebay, however IF THIS STAYS LOW I WILL PLACE A BID. There's something about it. I read the sellers history and appears to be good. I am re reading the add and looking at the pictures again. None of it looks top notch great shape however for my collection it would be a nice addition.

The box is almost 4 hours one way, with the price of gas and tolls I think shipping a a better option but if the auction stays low I can afford the shipping.

Check the lateral adjustment.  It's a Stanley, and judging from the low knob, it's an older one.
