Yesterday I bought this Craftsman 1/2" U-Circle at the local flea. Dirty.

I took it apart and cleaned it up. This ratchet had a sheltered life.

Once it was clean and back together I could see it was cadmium plated. There was a loss of the plating on the top of the drive, and a spot above the Craftsman name on the handle.

So I took out my sliver model paint. This is after the touch up.

Here it is again after the touch up.

Say what you want, but at least I did not wire wheel it.

Not bad. Will the paint hold up under use? Or is it just going to be in a collection?
