Gearench Valve Wheel Wrench
« on: March 05, 2014, 11:24:12 PM »
The company I work for does supply managed inventory in chemical plants and refineries, and lots of tools are in the inventories but we don't warehouse materials. Almost all materials are picked up, scanned, and distributed to the proper delivery points. Now and then some stuff stays overnight here and tonight I noticed an open case of these wrenches.

The PETOL™ VALVE WHEEL WRENCH was designed for added safety when opening and closing stubborn valves.

The wrench has a special feature which fits over a spoke of the valve wheel to minimize the chance of the wrench slipping off the wheel when force is being applied.

In addition to this, the base pad has been improved by a deeper, more rounded design for a better fit on the valve wheel rim. This also reduces the chance of the wrench slipping.

Finally, the handle has been designed to provide the worker with a safer, more comfortable gripping area.

PETOL Valve Wheel Wrenches are made from aluminum-magnesium and come in three sizes to fit a wide range of valve wheel diameters.

Located in the beautiful Bosque Valley of Central Texas, the Gearench manufacturing facilities are located about one mile south of Clifton, Texas on State Highway 6.

Gearench was founded in Houston, Texas in 1927 as Gearench Manufacturing Company, by J.A. Peterson and C.E. “Pat” Olsen. The first patented product, the Gearench, was a hand tool for use on small diameter pipe. From this original tool, the company has grown and developed over 40 product lines for use in various areas of the oil industry including exploration, drilling, production, refining and completion. Tools have also been developed for water well and trenchless technology drilling, as well as mining, power generation utilities, and general industrial markets.

Signage. In October of 1978, Chester Posey purchased Gearench, including facilities in Houston and Clifton, Texas. Since that time Gearench has grown from a school building (the old Clifton College) to a 55,000+ sq. ft. production facility.

Style and function . Who could ask for more. I'd probably buy that at a flea market to hang on the wall.
Thanks for the post.

Good info, thanks! Must be the aluminum-magnesium construction is to avoid creating sparks?
My friends call me Bob. My wife calls me a lot worse.

I've had use for those.  We usually put a pipe wrench on the os&y wheel and push it sideways.

Is it aluminum like a Rigid pipe wrench?  When you spend all day wrenching with 2 24" wrenches you really appreciate the aluminum ones.
